Computers are available for public use with a library card from the Romulus Public Library or any TLN member library in good standing. Visitor passes are available  and visitors must present a valid driver’s license or state identification to receive a visitor pass. Visitor passes are good for unlimited computer time.  Users must comply with the library’s Internet and Computer Use Policy.

All public library computers offer:

Computer Help

Staff can assist with basic help, if something is going to take more than 5 minutes we may ask that you set up a time to come back to receive help. We base this on availability of staff and commitments.

Simple Rules

  • Staff can assist helping patrons but if it is more than 5 minutes, staff will set up a time for you to come back to obtain more in-depth help.
  • We cannot help in matters that are legal or financial (including taxes), or with dating apps or websites.

Printing

The Romulus Public Library offers printing from any public computer for a fee. Patrons may print in black & white for a fee of $0.15 per page or in color for a fee of $0.30 per page. Patrons must pay for printing in advance or place money on their printing account for future use. Patrons also have the option to send their print jobs from a digital device connected to the Internet using the library’s Wireless Printing Portal.


Copier

The Romulus Public Library hosts one color copier that allows patrons to scan photos and documents to print, email, or USB storage. Patrons may print in black & white on this machine for a fee of $0.15 per page or in color for a fee of $0.30 per page.


Laminating

Staff can laminate documents at $1 per page. The lamination page size is 8.5 x 11 inches. We cannot laminate anything larger.


Fax Machine

The Library offers outgoing fax services for $1.00 per page. Cover sheets and/or confirmation sheets are available at no charge.

The Library offers incoming fax services for $1.00 per page. Cover sheets are available for no additional cost. The name of the patron receiving the fax must be clearly stated on the cover sheet and proper ID must be shown when picking up the fax. The patron is responsible for contacting the library when an incoming fax is expected and for picking up the documents in a timely manner. Incoming faxes not picked up the same day will be held in a folder at the circulation desk for one week and will be shredded if not picked up.

Notary

Remember before coming:

ID is required. Pursuant to Michigan Notary Public Act 238 of 2003, MCL 55.285, Section 25 (6)(c) “Identified on the basis of a current license, identification card, or record issued by a federal or state government that contains the person’s photograph and signature.”
