The Romulus Public Library is now offering library card renewals, new library cards, and minor cards online. This can take up to two weeks. We are just introducing them and refining the process. If you want an immediate card, please stop in during our normal business hours.

PLEASE NOTE: This is only available to those that can log into Google. Because we require photo uploads, you have to log into your account or create one to fill out the online forms. This may also take up to two weeks to receive in the mail. Staff check twice a week then put in the mail right after.

Adult Library Cards 18+

By submitting the request you agree to all of the basic rules of the card. Cards may only be obtained by Romulus and Huron Charter Township residents. You must provide a picture of the front of your state ID or state driver’s license and a picture of the backside of it. This is required to prove residency.

Select the option that is right for you: 1) renewing a library card, 2) renewing a library card and ordering a replacement card, or 3) getting a first card (which means you never had one).

Minor Library Cards 0-17

For those who are 17 and younger, the form must be filled out by a sponsor; sponsors must be a parent or legal guardian who is age 18 or older and a resident of Romulus or Huron Charter Township. Legal guardians must have court papers showing they have guardianship. The sponsor must submit a picture of the front of their state ID or state driver’s license and a picture of the backside of it to prove residency. The sponsor of a minor card must be the actual parent OR a legal guardian with court papers showing they have guardianship. This is a requirement and is not negotiable. The sponsor is taking all responsibility for fines/lost/damaged materials that accumulate on the minor’s card.

Materials

Materials in the library include books, magazines, newspapers, music CDs, entertainment and non-fiction DVDs, audio books, income tax forms, career guides, college catalogs, and local history materials. Search our Library Catalog to see what’s available. We also have downloadable books and media through Overdrive or Hoopla.  Materials not available in the Romulus Public Library or other TLN libraries can be requested through Interlibrary Loan.

Library Cards

Payment for Overdue, Damaged, and Lost Items

Patrons are responsible for returning library materials on time and in the same condition they were in when borrowed. Payment for overdue fees and lost items can be made in person at the Circulation Desk using cash, check, or credit card. Credit card payments can also be made online with your library card number (or EZ Username) and library PIN.
