Assistant Director / Youth Services Librarian – Jessica Wilhoite

Jessica Wilhoite is the Assistant Director / Youth Services Librarian here at the Romulus Public Library. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.A. in History/Art History, then thought – now what? She took to the internet to try and find her next step and, literally, came upon links for library school; she enrolled at Wayne State and graduated in 2010 with her Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree.

These days she can be found in the stacks of the Romulus Library, at her desk working hard, or at home with her husband, Jay, and son, Jackson. She loves reading, animals, games, and … oh yeah, and coffee.

Head of Adult Services and Outreach – Jake Rynicki

Jake Rynicki is the Head of Adult Services and Outreach. Prior to Romulus, Jake has worked for both Dearborn and Melvindale Public Libraries. While working on his B.A. , Jake interned at the Berkowitz Gallery where he cataloged over 200 art objects to be sold off. Part of the internship was archival work. This led him to research jobs in related fields and he applied to Wayne State’s School of Library and Information Science. In 2013, he graduated from the University of Michigan with his B.A. in Art History: Museum Studies and in 2016 he graduated from Wayne State University with his Masters in Library and Information Sciences.

Jake has several goals in life; learn every language of his ancestry (so far he’s studied 3; French, German, and Polish), visit all 50 states (so far 19), and read all the classics he never got to read in school.
