Who Are the Friends?
The Friends are people like you — members of the community who support the Library’s goals and services. They advocate for the Library, raise community awareness about the Library, and provide funds to meet specific Library needs.
How Do the Friends Support the Library?
- Provide programs for children, tweens, teens, and adults
- Support the Summer and Winter Reading Programs
- Fund special purchase requests
- Promote the Library at special events such as the Romulus Pumpkin Festival
It’s easy to be a Friend of the Library. Complete the membership application included in this brochure and return it to the Library. Annual membership cost is $10.00. Your Friends’ contribution is tax-deductible and receipts are available upon request.
The Friends of the Library meet the Second Monday of the month in the Library Meeting Room. Social time is held at 5:30 p.m. and the meetings begin at 5:45 p.m. Meeting attendance is encouraged but not required.
Ongoing Book Sale
An ever-changing inventory of newly-donated books, CDs, and DVDs are available for purchase at bargain prices on the Ongoing Book Sale shelves in the Library located next to the Circulation Desk.
Quarterly Book Sale
Sales are held in January, April, July, and September in the Library Meeting Room.
The library accepts only materials that are in good condition. We are unable to accept older materials or items in poor condition, including things that are mildewed, musty, stained, torn, missing pages or damaged in other ways. We do not accept magazines, cassette tapes, VHS, or burned CDs/DVDs.
